Description
The Story of Ants is geared to the Second Plane child’s interest in the natural world and imagining different ways of experiencing the world. The story could kick off an animal study about ants and lead to many different research and creative projects. This story came from a few of my student’s interest in doing experiments with ants. The presentation led to further experiments, life size replications of ants, booklets about different species of ants and a larger than life size paper mache ant. Because of the lesson, students started noticing and in general being more aware of the ants around them.
